Our Story

Bringing the Himalayas
to Surrey

Where It All Began

A Passion for
Authentic Flavor

Taste of Himalayas was born from a deep love for the rich, aromatic, and soul-warming cuisine of Nepal and India. Our founders grew up in kitchens filled with the scent of roasting spices, simmering curries, and freshly steamed momos — the kind of cooking that brings families together and turns meals into memories.

When we opened our doors in Surrey's Newton Town Centre, we brought more than recipes with us. We brought a philosophy: every dish should taste like it was made in a Himalayan home kitchen — with patience, with pride, and with the freshest ingredients we can find.

Today, that philosophy guides everything we do. From hand-folding each momo to slow-cooking our curries for hours, from grinding our own spice blends to baking fresh naan in the tandoor — we never take shortcuts.

Our Values

What We Believe In

Handcrafted Quality

Every dish is made to order from scratch. We grind our own spices, marinate meats overnight, and never use pre-made sauces or shortcuts. You can taste the difference in every bite.

Fresh, Real Ingredients

We source the finest produce, halal meats, and premium spices. No artificial flavors, no preservatives — just honest, wholesome ingredients prepared with care.

Warm Hospitality

In Himalayan culture, a guest is a blessing. We treat everyone who walks through our doors like family — with genuine warmth, attentive service, and a smile.

The Kitchen

Crafted with
Tradition & Care

Our kitchen is where the magic happens. Every morning, the team arrives early to prepare fresh dough for naan, light the tandoor, and begin the slow process of building the day's curries — layering whole and ground spices, blooming them in oil, and simmering until the flavors deepen and meld.

Our momo station is a point of pride. Each dumpling is hand-folded by skilled cooks who have been making momos for years — the pleats are tight, the filling is generous, and the steaming is timed to perfection.

From the tandoor to the curry pot, from the biryani to the thali, every plate that leaves our kitchen carries generations of Himalayan cooking tradition.
